Hello world, and thanks for stopping by! My name is Dawn Roof and I am a professional wedding and portrait photographer in Charlotte, NC. I love shooting weddings but I also do family, maternity, and kids portrait sessions. My style is modern, fun and organic, with every session being as unique as the client. On this blog you will find a mix of professional and personal tidbits from my life. I'd love to hear what you think, so leave me a note in the comments section! Thanks!

Heart Gallery Charity Event

The Heart Gallery is a traveling photographic and audio exhibit created to find families for children in foster care. There are over 120 Heart Galleries across the United States (and growing) designed to increase the number of adoptive families for children needing homes in our community.

I recently had the pleasure of working with the Charlotte Chapter of the Heart Gallery of America organization. Every year, these folks work with local photographers to have professional portraits taken of kids currently in foster care. The hope is that these images inspire someone to open their hearts and adopt one of these deserving children. There were about 40 kids there that day, and although you wanted to feel sad for these kids, they were having none of that! They were all having a blast playing with each other and just being, well, kids! I had a great time with them, and I can’t wait to do it again next year!!!
